Floriculture and drip irrigation: this farmer has a lot of good things going for him. As came up a number of times in our research throughout the quarter, the practice of growing and selling flowers is quite a profitable approach within agriculture in India. It uses very little land, and flowers sell very well for weddings and festivals. Add to that drip irrigation, which uses water much more efficiently than flooding, and you’ve created an excellent system.
